Marty Gest - Hockey Legend!

Here's a picture of my mate Marty -->
Marty and I met a number of years ago whilst attending the most esteemed establishment, the 'Bull & Bear'. After spending a great summer drinking beer and talking crap he decided to depart the colonial land and return to his home country... England....
Marty was (as most poms) were excited that Australia has achieved eternal glory by qualifying for the World Cup in 2006. "Congratulate the Socceroos for me please!".
I'm sure the Australia Football team thanks you for your kind words mate! Just watch out for us in the World Cup!!!!!
cya buddy!

Indeed I am the said Marty. Met Ben indeed at Bull and Bear after deciding that I couldn't stand another round of Simpsons followed by Everybody Loves Raymond and Rove Live. Wandered round the corner from Flinders St Station into the BnB. I'm so glad I did. In all the travel around your beautiful country I never met such genuine people. Was great to share a Schooner o Carlton (no pints sadly). I was informed that it is so it keeps the beer cold, fair point in Perth but Melbourne in April was still pretty cold.
I was in town for Anzac Day which was touching and legendary. Love the way the old boys have a beer after paying their respects.
Loved the clubbing, Lab4 Hard House/Energy in China Town. Got introduced to Cricket Darts and how not to play pool like a "Bogan"...I was playing safety snooker like we do over here!
Soon it was time to move on up to Sydney (Boo! I hear you say), I missed my first bus to Sydney via Canbera as my leaving drinks turned into leaving hang over. I got away the next day.
Great Memories!
Cheers, Marty, Kent, England.
Thanks all.
